Authorities arrest man for fatal crash in Bixyby

BIXBY, OK – The Bixby Police Department is investigating a fatal rollover crash that happened at S 88th E Ave and E 71st St on Thursday, according to KJRH.

A male driver crashed around 9:20 p.m. A 16-year-old girl was ejected from the vehicle. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Rescue crews transported the 16-year-old girl, two children, and an adult to an area hospital, where the 16-year-old died.

Following the collision, the driver, who was the girl’s father, allegedly fled the scene of the accident and went to a family member’s home, where he switched vehicles.

Authorities located the driver and arrested him for leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death, first-degree manslaughter, and passing a vehicle in a no-passing zone.

The father is held at the Tulsa County Jail on a $102,000 bond.
