BIXBY, OK – Officials have released additional information on the fatal crash that killed a 15-year-old girl near E 171st St S and Memorial Dr on Thursday, according to FOX 23.

A male driver was going around 70 mph when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, hit an oil spot, and crashed around 9:20 p.m.

The 15-year-old girl, who was the driver’s daughter, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

The driver allegedly left the scene on foot, walked to a family-owned business, and got into another vehicle. Authorities tracked the driver electronically and apprehended the driver in Checotah. Authorities charged him with first-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatality accident.

Authorities found a bottle of vodka at the scene. The driver told officers he drunk some of the vodka while he drove his family back to his home.
